The Cadillac Celestiq has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. The Cadillac Celestiq weighs 466 to 720 pounds more than the Mercedes EQE Sedan. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Cadillac’s powertrain warranty covers the Celestiq 2 years and 20,000 miles longer than Mercedes covers the EQE Sedan. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the EQE Sedan ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

The Celestiq’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the EQE Sedan’s (6 vs. 5 years).

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Cadillac vehicles are more reliable than Mercedes With 22 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Cadillac higher than Mercedes.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Cadillac vehicles are more reliable than Mercedes vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Cadillac 13 places higher in reliability than Mercedes.

The Celestiq’s electric motors produces 312 more horsepower (600 vs. 288) and 223 lbs.-ft. more torque (640 vs. 417) than the EQE 350+’s standard electric motor. The Celestiq’s electric motors produces 312 more horsepower (600 vs. 288) and 76 lbs.-ft. more torque (640 vs. 564) than the EQE 350 4MATIC’s standard electric motors. The Celestiq’s electric motors produces 198 more horsepower (600 vs. 402) and 7 lbs.-ft. more torque (640 vs. 633) than the EQE 500 4MATIC’s standard electric motors.

For better traction, the Celestiq has larger tires than the EQE Sedan (285/35R23 vs. 255/40R20). The Celestiq’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the EQE Sedan (285/35R23 vs. 265/40R20).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Celestiq has standard 22-inch wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the EQE Sedan. The Celestiq’s optional 23-inch wheels are larger than the 21-inch wheels optional on the EQE Sedan.

The Celestiq has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The EQE Sedan doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The Celestiq has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The EQE Sedan doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The front and rear suspension of the Celestiq uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the EQE Sedan, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Celestiq offers an available active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Mercedes doesn’t offer an active suspension on the EQE Sedan.

The Celestiq uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The EQE Sedan doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Cadillac service is better than Mercedes. J.D. Power ranks Cadillac fifth in service department satisfaction. With a 25% lower rating, Mercedes is ranked 17th.

Standard air conditioned seats in the front and rear seats keep the Celestiq’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The EQE Sedan doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

The Celestiq has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the EQE Sedan.

The Celestiq’s standard oscillating air vents move back and forth and distribute air evenly inside the vehicle, making everyone more comfortable. The EQE Sedan doesn’t offer oscillating vents.
