The Cadillac Celestiq has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Electrified G80 doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

Both the Celestiq and the Electrified G80 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras and rear cross-path warning.

The Cadillac Celestiq weighs 962 pounds more than the Genesis Electrified G80. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

There are over 2 times as many Cadillac dealers as there are Genesis dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Celestiq’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Cadillac vehicles are more reliable than Genesis With 4 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Cadillac higher than Genesis.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Cadillac vehicles are more reliable than Genesis vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Cadillac 2 places higher in reliability than Genesis.

The Celestiq’s electric motors produces 235 more horsepower (600 vs. 365) and 124 lbs.-ft. more torque (640 vs. 516) than the Electrified G80’s electric motors.

The Celestiq can travel longer on a full charge than the Electrified G80 (300 miles vs. 282 miles).

For better traction, the Celestiq has larger tires than the Electrified G80 (285/35R23 vs. 245/45R19).

The Celestiq’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Electrified G80’s standard 45 series front tires. The Celestiq’s optional tires have a lower 35 series profile than the Electrified G80’s 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Celestiq has standard 22-inch wheels. Only 19-inch wheels are available on the Electrified G80. The Celestiq offers optional 23-inch wheels.

The Celestiq has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Electrified G80 doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires standard on the Celestiq can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The Electrified G80 doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

The Celestiq has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The Electrified G80 doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The front and rear suspension of the Celestiq uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Electrified G80, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Celestiq offers an available active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Genesis doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Electrified G80.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Celestiq’s wheelbase is 11.7 inches longer than on the Electrified G80 (130.2 inches vs. 118.5 inches).

The Celestiq has .4 inches more front headroom, 3.7 inches more front legroom, 1.3 inches more front shoulder room, 2.1 inches more rear headroom, 2.8 inches more rear legroom and 1.5 inches more rear shoulder room than the Electrified G80.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Cadillac service is better than Genesis. J.D. Power ranks Cadillac fifth in service department satisfaction. With a 71% lower rating, Genesis is ranked 31st.

The Celestiq’s power side swing out doors make it much easier to load and unload kids and cargo. One touch opens the door, before you even get to the car. The Electrified G80 doesn’t offer a power rear door.

Standard air conditioned seats in the front and rear seats keep the Celestiq’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The Electrified G80 doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

The Celestiq’s standard oscillating air vents move back and forth and distribute air evenly inside the vehicle, making everyone more comfortable. The Electrified G80 doesn’t offer oscillating vents.

Both the Cadillac Celestiq and the Genesis Electrified G80 have a standard Qi wireless phone charging system in the front seat. To easily keep personal devices charged in the rear seat, without cables tangling and wearing out, the Celestiq also has a standard wireless charging system in the rear seat. The Electrified G80 does not.
