Compare the2025 Cadillac LyriqVS 2024 Honda Prologue

The Lyriq’s optional driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Prologue doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Lyriq and the Prologue have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors and rear cross-path warning.

The Lyriq comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck. The Prologue’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

Cadillac’s powertrain warranty covers the Lyriq 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Honda covers the Prologue. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the Prologue ends after only 5 years or 60,000 miles.

The Lyriq’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Prologue’s (6 vs. 5 years).

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Cadillac vehicles are more reliable than Honda With 10 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Cadillac higher than Honda.

The Lyriq’s standard electric motor produces 153 more horsepower (365 vs. 212) and 89 lbs.-ft. more torque (325 vs. 236) than the Prologue’s standard electric motor. The Lyriq’s electric motor produces 77 more horsepower (365 vs. 288) than the Prologue’s optional electric motors. The Lyriq’s optional electric motors produces 227 more horsepower (515 vs. 288) and 117 lbs.-ft. more torque (450 vs. 333) than the Prologue’s optional electric motors.

Regenerative brakes improve the Lyriq’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Prologue doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The Lyriq’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the Prologue are solid, not vented.

The Lyriq stops shorter than the Prologue:

For better traction, the Lyriq has larger standard tires than the Prologue (265/50R20 vs. 255/60R19).

The Lyriq’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 50 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Prologue’s standard 60 series tires. The Lyriq’s optional tires have a lower 40 series profile than the Prologue Elite’s 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Lyriq has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the Prologue. The Lyriq’s optional 22-inch wheels are larger than the 21-inch wheels on the Prologue Elite.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires standard on the Lyriq can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. Self-sealing tires aren’t available on some tire packages on the Prologue.

The Lyriq’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (50% to 50%) than the Prologue’s (54% to 46%). This gives the Lyriq more stable handling and braking.

The Lyriq AWD handles at .82 G’s, while the Prologue Elite pulls only .80 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Lyriq Luxury AWD executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the Prologue Elite (26.4 seconds @ .71 average G’s vs. 27.1 seconds @ .64 average G’s).

The Lyriq offers available computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Prologue doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The Lyriq has 2.9 inches more front legroom, .2 inches more rear legroom and 1 inch more rear shoulder room than the Prologue.

The Lyriq has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Prologue with its rear seat up (28 vs. 25.2 cubic feet). The Lyriq has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Prologue with its rear seat folded (60.8 vs. 57.7 cubic feet).

Maximum trailer towing in the Honda Prologue is limited to 1500 pounds. The Lyriq AWD offers up to a 3500 lbs. towing capacity.

Standard Trailer Sway Control on the Lyriq uses the StabiliTrak® sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Prologue doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Cadillac service is better than Honda. J.D. Power ranks Cadillac fifth in service department satisfaction. With a 20% lower rating, Honda is ranked 12th.

Unlike the driver-only memory seat in the Prologue Touring/Elite, the Lyriq has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Lyriq’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Prologue’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

The Lyriq’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Prologue offers an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The Cadillac Lyriq has power folding mirrors that offer unparalleled convenience while maneuvering in tight places or parked. With the mirrors folded it’s easier to walk past and help prevent parking damage. The mirrors can be quickly unfolded when the driver is ready to leave. Power folding mirrors are not standard on all versions of the Prologue.

Both the Lyriq and the Prologue have standard heated front seats. The Lyriq also offers optional heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated rear seats aren’t available in the Prologue.

The Lyriq offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the Prologue.

The Lyriq’s Enhanced Automatic Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Auto Parking will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Prologue doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
